Why identity checks exist

Identity verification establishes who is behind an account, reduces duplicate and misused accounts, and supports applicable trust and compliance requirements.

What may be requested

Depending on the applicable verification process, Matchly may request an identity document, a selfie or liveness check, and address information.

Handling

Verification evidence is not public profile information and is not shown to other users.

Where a liveness or biometric check is used, it is used to confirm that the document holder is the person presenting it, and retention follows the applicable provider and legal requirements.

Status of this document

This document is provisional. It describes how Matchly is designed to work today so that users are not left with an empty page. It is not final legal wording and it has not yet been through legal sign-off.
