How Matchly works
Search → Compare → Connect
The three steps
1. Search
Describe your exchange in your own words — “I want to sell £5,000 GBP for EUR” or “I have GBP and want Toman”. Matchly AI structures your request and asks only for what is missing, one question at a time.
2. Compare
SmartMatch shows compatible Orders from verified members and Offers from verified exchange businesses, comparing rate and additional fee together rather than a headline rate alone.
3. Connect
You choose who to connect with. Matchly shows the connection details and any applicable Connect Fee or plan benefit before anything is activated.
BUY and SELL
The word is always written out, and the colour never changes.
BUY
You want to obtain a currency and are offering another in exchange. Example: BUY £5,000 GBP using EUR.
SELL
You have a currency available and want to receive another. Example: SELL £5,000 GBP for EUR.
SmartMatch
Matchly's compatibility system for Orders, Offers, members and eligible exchange businesses.
Depending on the flow, SmartMatch can consider amount, currency pair, BUY/SELL compatibility, rate, additional fees, all-in economics, country and market, method, timing, availability, reputation and applicable eligibility rules. A Match percentage shows compatibility — it is never a guarantee that two parties will agree, connect or complete. Sponsored placement never changes an organic SmartMatch score.
Members and exchange businesses
Personal Members
Individuals posting their own BUY or SELL Order. The green Matchly Verified seal means Matchly completed the applicable identity checks. Listings show first name only — never surname, email, phone or bank details.
Exchange Businesses
Professional exchanges publishing BUY and SELL Offers with rate, additional fee, liquidity, minimum and maximum amounts, market, method, availability and expiry. The blue seal means Matchly completed the applicable business checks (KYB).
Rates and additional fees
You set the rate
Members and businesses publish their own rate. Matchly never silently changes a submitted rate.
Additional fees are shown separately
An additional fee sits outside the headline rate so the real economics are visible, and SmartMatch compares both.
Rate edits are free while OPEN
Markets move. Updating the rate on an OPEN Order never triggers another Post Order Fee.
How Orders work
OPEN
Published and visible to marketplace search and SmartMatch.
CONNECTED
A connection has been activated with a specific counterparty.
COMPLETED
The connected activity was marked complete in the Matchly workflow.
EXPIRED
The validity period ended.
CLOSED
The member closed the Order. One free reopen within seven days, where eligible.
Publishing an Order requires the applicable Post Order Fee, calculated automatically from the GBP-equivalent value.
What happens after you connect
Discovery and connection are separate stages: browsing never reveals someone's contact information. When a connection is activated, a Match record is created and each side gets the information the connection workflow permits. You then agree the details directly. Matchly does not guarantee that the other party will complete, so keep to the safety guidance and report anything suspicious.
Provisional — Matchly's final regulatory description depends on the approved operating model and jurisdiction. Nothing here states a licence or authorisation.
